Workshop Overview

Elevate! Social Justice & Civic Engagement Career Opportunities Panel Discussion: is a customizable in-person and online event that is open to teens ages 14-17 and college age youth. Elevate! is a platform for workforce development insight that enables participants to explore through conversation some of the many career options available within the social, civic and economic justice disciplines that help create positive change in the world.
 
Event topics discussed include:
 

  • Maximizing & Expanding Social Networks to Identify Career Opportunities
  • Capitalizing on Social Media Influence to Find Jobs
  • Transitioning from Intern/Volunteer to Employee, Consultant or Apprentice
  • Entrepreneurship: Customizing Your Own Career Path
  • Identifying Social & Civic Engagement Opportunities Within Traditional Work Environment
  • Participants gain insight to

 

Participants gain insight to ways they can custom design a career path that connects their passion, education, skills, interests, and abilities to desired opportunities. Participants also learn about personal branding and messaging. Networking and relationship cultivation along with follow up are explored as well.
 

ELEVATE! PRESENTS

On average, Elevate! is a two-hour events and includes guest presenters / panelists from various cultural and socioeconomic experiences who have direct expertise in economic equity, civic engagement and/or social justice work, advocating for underserved populations, promoting cultural understanding and amplifying unheard voices worldwide through engagement pipelines such as:
 

  • The Arts, Agriculture, Education
  • Social Entrepreneurship
  • Finance, Law
  • STEM…and more
